No. The most popular belief about these masks is that they simulate high-altitude training, but this is a myth. Training at real altitude involves lower atmospheric pressure and a lower density of oxygen molecules in the air. Training masks simply obstruct or limit airflow through valves, making mechanical breathing more difficult.

For healthy people in good physical condition, they are generally not dangerous if used correctly and for limited periods. However, restricting air intake can cause dizziness, anxiety, headaches, or nausea. Their use is not recommended for beginners or people with respiratory or heart problems.

It's not ideal. Scientific studies show that these masks don't offer any significant advantage for strength training or muscle development; they are geared almost exclusively towards aerobic and anaerobic conditioning.

It is recommended to use them as a complement to your regular training and for short periods (between 15 and 25 minutes a day, 3 to 4 times a week). They should not be used throughout your entire routine, much less while sleeping, as this could cause a feeling of suffocation and sleep disturbances.
